If you’ve started planning your wedding, you’ve probably noticed wedding content creators everywhere lately. Maybe you’ve even found yourself wondering, Do I really need one if I already have a photographer and videographer?
It’s one of the questions I get asked most, and honestly, it’s a great one.
The truth is, wedding content creators aren’t here to replace photographers or videographers. We all have completely different roles on a wedding day, and if it’s within your budget, I truly believe all three are worth having. Together, they tell the fullest story of your wedding day.

Everyone says your wedding day flies by, and as someone who’s been a part of so many weddings, I can confidently say they’re right. I got married in April of 2025 and I feel like I blinked and it was over. You’ll spend months, maybe even years, planning every little detail. Then suddenly, you’re driving away from your reception wondering where the day went.
The biggest reason? There are so many moments happening while you’re somewhere else.
While you’re getting into your dress, your fiancé might be reading his vows one last time before the ceremony. Your flower girl is probably twirling around because she’s just so excited to wear her dress. Your grandparents may have arrived early and are quietly taking everything in before guests begin to fill the room to make sure they have their seats. Your bridesmaids are laughing together while helping each other get ready. Your dad is pacing outside the bridal suite, trying to hold it together before walking you down the aisle.
Those moments matter just as much as your first kiss or first dance, but you’ll never see them unless someone is there to capture them.
One of my favorite things to hear from couples after they receive their gallery is, “Wait… when did this happen?!”
That’s exactly why I love what I do.
A wedding content creator isn’t just documenting the moments you’re part of. We’re documenting everything happening around you too, so afterward you get to experience your wedding from a completely different perspective.
One of the biggest misconceptions about wedding content creation is that we do the same thing as photographers or videographers. It’s a misconception from both sides of a wedding, the couples and the vendors.
We really don’t.
Your photographer is creating the images you’ll print, frame and pass down for generations. Your videographer is crafting a beautiful film that tells the story of your wedding day through intentional footage, audio and editing.
A wedding content creator is there to capture your day exactly as it unfolds.
The hug your dad gives your planner when she tells him it’s time to walk you down the aisle.
Your bridesmaids hyping you up while your photographer is photographing your dress.
Your guests wiping away tears during the ceremony while you’re focused on each other.
Your college friends laughing together during cocktail hour.
The flower girls sneaking an extra dessert before dinner.
Those are the moments I find myself capturing all day long.
Instead of replacing the other creatives on your team, we’re preserving everything that naturally happens alongside the moments they’re focused on. When all three work together, you end up with a much more complete story of your wedding day. We actually prefer weddings with all three media team representatives, I like to call it the “wedding trifecta.”

One of my favorite parts about wedding content creation is how quickly couples get to relive everything.
Professional photography and videography take time, and they should. There’s so much talent, editing and care that goes into creating those final galleries and films, and they’re absolutely worth the wait.
But there’s something really special about waking up the next morning, grabbing a cup of coffee and watching your wedding all over again.
I can’t tell you how many couples have told me they stayed in bed the morning after their wedding watching every single clip together. Others have watched their gallery on the flight to their honeymoon. Some immediately send videos to grandparents or family members who couldn’t be there.
My favorite story is from one of our brides, Hannah, who let me know that her friends and family gathered around the day after their wedding, put our content on their TV and laughed, cried, cheered, while reliving the wedding day. She told me it was such a special memory not only getting to rewatch her wedding day through a different POV, but being able to do so with her loved ones too.
It never gets old hearing those stories because that’s exactly why Moments to Hold exists.
You’ll see moments you completely missed. You’ll hear everyone’s reactions after your first kiss. You’ll laugh at things that happened while you were taking portraits. You’ll watch your guests having the best time while you were greeting family.
It’s such a different experience than waiting months to relive your day.

One question I hear all the time is, “Can’t my bridesmaids just take videos?” and I honestly hear this more from the older generation… sorry, but its true!
Of course they can. And I’m sure they’ll capture a few fun moments throughout the day.
But personally, I don’t think they should have to.
Your bridesmaids should be fully present with you. They should be helping you into your dress, crying during your vows, celebrating on the dance floor and soaking in every moment right alongside you, not worrying about whether they remembered to hit record.
The same goes for your parents, siblings and guests.
Your mom deserves to watch you walk down the aisle, not through her phone screen.
Your grandparents deserve to be fully present during your ceremony.
Your friends deserve to dance with you instead of trying to get the perfect angle.
One thing I always remind my couples is that your wedding day isn’t a production. It’s one of the biggest days of your life, and everyone you love should get to experience it with you.
Hiring a wedding content creator allows exactly that.
This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions about wedding content creation.
People assume it’s just for couples who want TikToks or Instagram Reels. Honestly, most of my couples aren’t influencers. Most of our couples don’t even post on social media!
They’re teachers, nurses, business owners, doctors and people who simply want another way to remember one of the happiest days of their lives. To be able to have a moving photo album on their phone.
Some of them hardly post on social media at all.
They hire a wedding content creator because they want more memories.
They want to hear their grandparents laugh again years from now.
They want to watch their best friends’ reactions during the ceremony.
They want to relive the excitement of getting ready with the people they love most.
Those videos become so much more than content. They become part of your family’s story.
When people think about wedding videos, they usually picture the first kiss, the first dance or the grand exit.
And yes, those moments are incredibly important.
But some of my favorite clips are the ones no one planned.
A groom quietly practicing his vows before the ceremony.
A little cousin asleep in a chair halfway through dinner.
Your grandma reaching across the table to hold your grandpa’s hand.
Your mom and future mother in law hugging and wiping each others tears.
Your maid of honor taking a deep breath before giving her speech.
The hugs after the ceremony when it finally sinks in that you’re married.
Those aren’t moments you’ll find on your timeline, but they’re often the ones couples come back to over and over again because they’re real.

At the end of the day, only you can decide what’s most important for your wedding.
But if you’re asking me, wedding content creation has very little to do with social media.
It’s about remembering how your wedding felt.
It’s about preserving the moments you didn’t even know were happening.
It’s about allowing your favorite people to put their phones away and simply celebrate with you.
At the end of the day, that’s why I started Moments to Hold.
Not because couples need another Reel for Instagram, but because one day these videos become memories.
Years from now, I want my couples to hear the voices of the people they love, watch their grandparents laugh around the dinner table, relive the excitement before the ceremony and remember all of the little moments that made their wedding day uniquely theirs.
To me, that’s what wedding content creation is really about :’) Ready to have your wedding documented this way? Inquire here!
